How to Combat Oily Skin

So picture this... You have a night out in the town with your friends and you've spent at least an hour beating your face. You're looking cute, feeling sassy, you're ready to take a bunch of pictures and hit the city. Three hours pass and boom! You look like a shiny disco ball. Not because of the glitter eye shadow you put on your eyes. So how can you prevent this from happening? I've got a few tips for you.

1. Moisturize!

I know it sounds counterproductive, but your skin is usually producing oil because its dehydrated. Oil control lotions are really just lotions that keep your face hydrated. My favorite at the moment is Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.

2. Prime your Skin!

Primer not only smooths out the surface of your skin but it slows down oil production. My favorite primers are Estee Lauder- The Mattifier Shine Control Perfecting Primer and E.L.F. Cosmetics Oil Control Primer Mist if you're a baller on a budget.

3. Girl, Set your Face!

Don't forget to set your face. I usually set with setting powder first and then I'll spray my clients face after dusting the powder away with a spray. Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray has always been my favorite. They also make minis to refresh on the go. Thank me later.

4. Don't Sleep on Blotting Paper!

Blotting paper is such an old trick but it works! Once you see a little shine on your nose or forehead just get a handy paper and blot around the area. Make sure you don't rub it on your face! Just pat it. Shop Miss A makes packets that fit in your purse or pocket for just a dollar!
