How I Slay All Day
Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you're enjoying the season. I know many of you like myself have long days ahead. Whether you're always on the go and plan on going to every party you can think of, or if you have an early morning and you're in charge of cooking the holiday dinner for your family and friends. Whatever your week brings you, there's one thing that I find a lot of people are concerned about and it's if their makeup will stay on all day!
Below are a few of my favorite products that I like to use to keep my clients makeup looking fresh all day. Enjoy!
1. Moisturize!
Applying Foundation on flaky skin is a No-Go Honey! Make sure you apply a hydrating moisturizer on your skin even if it's oily! My favorite moisturizer lately is L'oreal's Age Perfect Facial Oil.
You also want to make sure you moisturize your lips before a lipstick application. I'm obsessed with Oribe's Lip Balm.
2. Prime.
There are several primers but most of them just don't add up to Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I strongly believe this is the only primer you will need. It will make your skin feel smoother than a jar of Skippy.
My favorite product to prime the eyelids is the MAC's Paintpot's in Soft Ochre or Painterly. MAC came out with this glorious product and I hope they never get rid of it. They're 16 (if not more) hours of wear and they come in a huge variety of colors to suite your needs.
3. Set
In a world of "baking" my secret is to set the under eyes and face with foundation powder. It's full coverage, it wont give you a ghostly look and it's not as drying as a setting powder. My favorite powder is the MAC Studio Fix Powders. Find a shade 1-3 shades lighter that your own, apply it with a flat shadow or (soft) flat foundation brush and it will become your favorite setting powder. Trust me.
To finish things off, I absolutely love setting my makeup with Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This will lock in all of your hard work and you will Slay All Day, Honey!
